Rain

It's raining in California right now (in the SF bay area) Rain is quite pretty but it's hard to go birding and such when it's so muddy. Oh, well. Now if it were snowing, this would be a different story.

Well, I have to go and I promise to post pics later today.

Owl Days

This is an owl from last year. He is a western screech owl. Cute huh?

The Importance of Open Spaces

Open spaces in the east bay are daily threatened by home builders. Home builders aren’t necessarily bad, but can cause damage if they build the wrong way. The wrong way is destroying the few open spaces we have!

Open spaces are refuges for burrowing owls, ground squirrels, grey squirrels (which need open spaces to thrive,) snakes, and many more native fauna and flora. The open spaces are beautiful, but sometimes people litter. We need to help prevent this. We need to help pick up garbage in these precious open spaces.

So please, do your part. Help protect open spaces.

Pelican Troubles

Photobucket
Sad news here. Hundreds of Brown Pelicans are turning up sick. It's still a mystery of what the sickness is and was caused by. Some think it's because of the cold weather we had here. Please pray for these poor pelicans.
